You Don't Have to Have It All Figured Out

A Conversation with Dufme

Sometimes we put so much pressure on ourselves to know exactly what comes next.

We want the plan.

We want the answer.

We want to know that if we take this step, the next step is going to be waiting right there for us.

But life doesn't always work like that.

Sometimes you only know what you're supposed to do today.

And maybe that's enough.

I've learned that you can be making progress and still be figuring things out at the same time. You can have a vision without having every detail. You can know where you want to go without knowing exactly how you're going to get there.

That doesn't mean you're lost.

It means you're still building.

There are days when things fall into place and you can see exactly why you had to go through everything that came before.

Then there are other days when you're looking around thinking, Okay...now what?

Those days count too.

Maybe the next move isn't some huge decision.

Maybe it's finishing something you started.

Maybe it's correcting one small thing.

Maybe it's learning something you didn't know yesterday.

Maybe it's deciding not to spend money you don't need to spend.

Maybe it's staying home, taking care of what's in front of you, and realizing that was actually the better decision for today.

Not every good decision comes with fireworks.

Some of them are quiet.

Tracy's Reflection

I am learning not to measure my progress only by the big things.

There are a lot of pieces moving in my life, and I don't always know how every one of them is going to come together.

But I don't need to know everything today.

What I need to know is my next step.

I can take that step.

Then I can take another.

And when something doesn't work, I can adjust without deciding that the whole plan has failed.

I trust the vision I have been given. I am building with intention, one step at a time, on a foundation strong enough to last.

Something to Carry With You

You don't have to see the entire road to know that you're moving.

Do what you can with what you know today.

Learn from it.

Adjust when you need to.

And keep going.

Sometimes figuring it out is the journey.
